SCAM ALERT
We are constantly inundated with emails and queries, seeking confirmation or validity of business propositions made to individuals by people claiming to work for, or affiliated with Shell Companies in Nigeria (Shell).People claiming affiliation with Shell use social media and other platforms to deceive unsuspecting victims, luring them into parting with sums of money under the guise of recruitment and scholarship award processing. These scam artists also sometimes claim to award high value contracts to recipients of such mails.
Please note that:
Shell WILL NOT request any monetary payments from applicants, at any stage of the recruitment or scholarship award process. Any individual, interested in opportunities with Shell Nigeria, will find available positions listed on the company website www.shell.com/careers. Shell is NOT involved in and DOES NOT conduct or carry any lottery or mobile draws, e-mail/sms (grant) awards
It has come to our attention that scam artists are impersonating senior Shell officials using fake Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. Please be advised that solicitations with mention of or requests for monetary payments will NEVER be sent by any Shell official to anyone
Members of the public are hereby strongly advised to note that any communication or correspondence via social media offering business contracts, scholarships, interviews or immediate employment, requesting payment at any point, is fraudulent and does not originate from Shell.
Anyone who receives these false solicitations is strongly advised to either disregard them in their own best interest, or report to the nearest law enforcement agency.
The Shell brand is being used fraudulently in these instances. In as much as we sympathise with anyone who has been defrauded by these scams, Shell cannot accept any responsibility or liability for situations arising from any engagement with these unauthorised persons and organisations.
Scholarship Disclaimer
The attention of The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) has been drawn to the activities of some individuals parading themselves to unsuspecting members of the public as SPDC’s Scholarship Programme representatives.
